Oak Park robbery suspect caught on surveillance video

May 2, 2011 (OAK PARK, Ill.)

The photo is from a surveillance camera at a bank where the suspect allegedly tried to use a victim's debit card just 10 minutes after a robbery in the 300-block of North Oak Park Avenue on Thursday, April 28. While that most recent robbery has not been directly connected to the other robberies, police say the incidents are similar.

The suspect is described as an African-American male in his 20s, about 5'10" to 6' tall with short hair, facial stubble and a hooded sweatshirt. Anyone with information should call 708 386 3800 or email police@oak-park.us.

Since March 30, five women in Oak Park have been mugged while walking alone in the area near Lake Street between Austin Boulevard and Oak Park Avenue.

Police said there could be more than one robber in the cases.
