Man dies after suffering shock on Red Line tracks

Chicago Police News Affairs says the man reportedly pulled the emergency brake on the train, opened the door and jumped onto the tracks.

Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford said the 62-year-old man was pronounced dead on arrival at Stroger Hospital.

CTA Red Line trains were halted momentarily Sunday afternoon, but as of 4:15 p.m. Sunday, CTA spokeswoman Sheila Gregory said trains were running normally in both directions.
