Man lied to police about where he found $17,000

June 30, 2011 (CHICAGO)

Robert Adams was a sensation a few weeks ago when he claimed to turn in a bag of cash. But now the Arlington Heights resident is charged with filing a false report. He was fined $500.

Adams actually admitted to authorities that he was less than honest. He actually took the money that was left behind by a guard at an ATM in a Midlothian Walgreens. Adams eventually returned it but he admits he was no Good Samaritan.
