The national automobile dealers association predicts nearly 14 million cars and trucks will be sold or leased in the U.S. this year, about one million more than last year.
The association says a driving force behind sales this year will likely be "aging" vehicles.
It says the average age of cars on the road is now 11 years old and many people will be looking for replacements.
The group also believes low interest rates on car loans could also boost sales.
