He debuts his latest movie "Newlyweds" at the Siskel Film Center Friday evening.
The movie tells the story of love lost and found in Manhattan as couples struggle with marriages new and old. Burns made it on a shoestring budget.
He told ABC7's Janet Davies it's his favorite way to work.
Burns is appearing at the Siskel Film Center, at State and Randolph, for both showings of the movie Friday and Saturday night. He'll be talking about "Newlyweds" and greeting fans.
