Mothers with autistic children reportedly earn less

That's 56% less than mothers whose children had no health limitations and 35% less than mothers whose children had other health limitations. This study also found moms who have children with autism are 6% less likely to be employed. Researchers did not find differences in father's incomes.

Authors found mothers may cut back work hours or drop out of the workforce to help supervise their child's care including advocating for services.
