Condo association sued over service poodle

April 11, 2012 (CHICAGO)

And now the Illinois Department of Human Rights has filed a lawsuit claiming the 3150 Condominium Association is violating anti-discrimination laws.

The association claims their building in 3100-block of North Lake Shore Drive has a no pets policy. However, the tenant suffers from depression and uses his 12-pound miniature poodle for therapeutic purposes.

The tenant says he has been fighting the association's refusals since 2007 and has been paying a caregiver to watch the dog.
