Nobel Peace Prize winner cancels trip to Chicago

April 16, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Mairead Maguire's trip to Chicago was going to include a visit to Hancock High School to meet with students. But the Belfast activist announced Monday she's not coming because of a statement by Secretary of State Hillary Clinton.

Clinton called the state department an "active partner" in the event, scheduled for April 23rd in Chicago.

Maguire said she does not want to be associated with this partnership because she does not agree with many of the policies of the U.S. State Department.
