Rev. Jesse Jackson to lead protest outside suburban Chicago gun shop

June 22, 2012 (CHICAGO)

Both of them spoke at Harper High School and walked through the neighborhood to raise awareness. They say a state of emergency must be declared because violence is up and the number of jobs for black males is down.

Jackson says he has made an appeal to the White House.

"We urge the president and the Congress to renew our focus on the urban policy. We need a comprehensive urban policy," Jackson said.

Jackson says he plans to lead a protest outside a suburban gun shop Saturday afternoon demanding a stop to the flow of guns.
