Honey may be best cure for bedtime cough

It's hard listening to a child coughing all night and not being able to sleep. A new study finds honey could be just what the doctor orders.

Israeli researchers found a teaspoon or two of honey before bedtime can safely relieve the symptoms of an upper respiratory tract infection.

Coughs are one of the most common reasons kids go to the doctors and many over the counter products are not recommended for kids under 4.

This study in the journal Pediatrics found honey to be a safe alternative for children over the age of 1.
