Crosstown Classic begins on the South Side

It's the crosstown rivalry South Side style as the series kicks off at U.S. Cellular Field Monday evening.

Which means instead of hitting the bars and restaurants in Wrigleyville, fans are cooking up their own eats at tailgate barbecues.

It's the Cubs-Sox series complete with longtime friends turned friendly enemies for the day.

The teams may only be playing four early season games this year and they're not even weekend games. Neither team is likely to still be playing in October.

But the one thing most everyone can agree on is that the game takes a back seat to the Detroit Red Wings-Chicago Blackhawks playoff match taking place on the ice Monday night in Detroit.

Chicago may have split loyalties when it comes to baseball, but we can all agree on one hockey team: the Blackhawks.
