"Hey hey, ho ho, Gap sweatshops have got to go," protesters chanted Tuesday.
The Reverend Jesse Jackson helped lead a protest outside the Gap store on State Street.
The International Labor Rights Forum wants the clothing company to sign a safety initiative for all of its Bangladesh suppliers.
Since 2005, more than 1,800 workers have died in fires and building collapses in clothing factories in Bangladesh.
"The workers should have health care safety regulations, they should have wages, so that we know what we wear here, affects conditions there," said Rev. Jackson, Rainbow PUSH coalition.
Gap says while the recent tragedies didn't occur at any of their factories, they are still working to implement a new safety plan.
