13-year-old MDA ambassador visited by Chicago fire fighters

August 12, 2013 (CHICAGO)

Bryson Foster visited with fire fighters at the district one headquarters on the south side.

For nearly 60 years, the International Association of Fire Fighters has been an MDA national partner, with their "Fill the Boot" campaign raising money for muscular dystrophy research.

Monday, the fire fighters presented 13-year-old Bryson with a check for $200,000, the money they recently raised from their "Fill the Boot" campaign.

"MDA uses the money by putting it to clinics, research, MDA summer camps, so those are three things and it's just helping MDA families so much," he said.

Bryson was diagnosed with muscular dystrophy at the age of five.

As MDA's ambassador, he travels around the country attending fundraisers and other events.
