Stephen Dewart was participating in a photo shoot when a Chicago streets and sanitation truck driven by Dwight Washington hit him in the Gold Coast in May of 2011.
Dewart was one of seven people injured in the crash. He suffered several shattered bones that required surgeries.
Washington had a blood alcohol level more than twice the legal limit and an open bottle of brandy was found in his truck. He was sentenced to nine years in prison after pleading guilty.
