Most Rev. Timothy J. Lyne, D.D., 94, Retired Auxiliary Bishop of Chicago and Rector of Holy Name Cathedral, passed away suddenly this morning at his residence in the Bishop Lyne Rectory at Holy Name Cathedral in Chicago.

"He contributed to and accompanied the life of the Archdiocese and of innumerable individuals for decades. Seemingly indestructible because never complaining, his death is a shock.
