Kids bake, distribute cookies to cops, firefighters

December 24, 2013 (SKOKIE, Ill.)

They rolled. They sprinkled. They cut. They baked.

Children from Skokie Valley Agudath Jacob Synagogue put together big batches of goodies.

This was all to show their appreciation for first responders, police and fire fighters around the northern suburbs who are stuck working on Christmas Eve.

They've been doing this on the holiday for the last eight years.

"We just want to do it because it's really nice and we want them to have a happy Christmas, then have a happy year," said Yaakov Rosenberg.

Then the kids and their families fanned out to bring the cookies to 20 different fire houses and police stations.
