Jason Cozmanoff, 44, was sentenced to 12 years in the hit-and-run death of 25-year-old Britney Meux, a Lake County Jail guard struck by a vehicle while jogging with co-workers.

Cozmanoff was convicted of reckless homicide, criminal recklessness and 11 other counts in December 2013.

The most serious charges - reckless homicide and failure to stop after an accident resulting in death - each carry a sentence of two to eight years.
