Firefighters responded to the blaze at a single-family residence about 9:30 a.m. in the 100 block of South Chester Avenue, said Park Ridge Fire Lt. Al Portell.
One person, whose age, gender and condition were not immediately known, was taken to Advocate Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge, Portell said.
The injured person was likely a resident of the house, Portell said. It was not immediately known whether anyone else was inside the building at the time of the blaze.
As of 11:30 a.m., the fire had been extinguished, Portell said.
Fire officials are investigating the cause of the blaze.
