Uptown shooting survivor released from hospital

Brion Payne is out of the hospital and speaking about the shooting that injured him outside a Dunkin' Donuts in Chicago's Uptown neighborhood.

It happened on April 1 in the 1000 block of West Wilson Avenue.

The 50-year-old was shot in the back of the head as he was entering the donut shop.

"It went through and came out of my face, and as I was laying on the ground, I could look down and I could see the blood hanging out of my face," said Payne.

Joey Jones, 31, is charged in connection with the shooting, along with the fatal shooting of a Gage Park store employee earlier that day.
