A chain of toy stores announces tougher safety standards. Toys 'R' Us says they will include tighter standards for the amount of lead contained in the toys on its shelves and a ban on two chemicals in toys that have raised safety concerns.

The standards take effect March 1.

By the end of the year, Toys 'R' Us say they will no longer carry any products that contain nickel-cadmium batteries. They say those pollute the environment.
