Some Illinois lawmakers want to allow 17-year-olds to vote. State representative Lou Lang, a democrat from Skokie, is proposing an amendment to the state constitution. It would make Illinois the only state to allow voting by those under the age of 18.

In Indiana, 17 year olds can vote if they will turn 18 before the general election.
