Riverdale Police ask for help in shooting probe

The Riverdale Police issued the following news release Saturday asking for help:

News Release

On April 11, 2008, at 7:47pm Riverdale Police responded to 24 E. 140th Court for a call of a man shot. When officers arrived, 17 year old Terrell Ladd from Riverdale was lying on the sidewalk with one gunshot wound.

The Riverdale Police spoke with witnesses who were with the victim. They stated they were walking on the sidewalk when they were approached by a subject who was attempting to rob the victim. The victim pushed the offender away refusing to hand over anything to the offender. The offender pulled out a handgun and shot the victim. The offender fled the area in a silver SUV along with two other subjects who were in the vehicle.

Three suspects in a silver SUV similar to a 2006 Saturn Vue approached the victim about buying drugs and then attempted to rob him. When the victim attempted to flee he was shot in the back with an unknown handgun, possibly a revolver.

Suspect #1 (Shooter): Male black approximately 19 yoa, 6'02", 140 lbs., dark brown complexion, short Afro, no facial hair, possibly crooked or missing front teeth. Last seen wearing a black fitted baseball style cap, black hooded sweatshirt, white t-shirt, dark pants.

Suspect #2 (Driver): Male black approximately 20 yoa, heavy build, medium complexion, braided hair with braids straight back.

Suspect #3 (Passenger): Male black, 20 yoa, dark complexion, 6'02", 140 lbs.

The victim was transported to Christ Hospital in Oak Lawn in critical condition.
