A state board recommends a twenty-thousand dollar pay hike for Governor Rod Blagojevich, which would put his salary up to one hundred and ninety dollars a year.

Members of the state general assembly would see their base salary jump by more than seven-thousand dollars to about seventy-three thousand dollars a year. The recommendation comes after legislators' pay increased by nearly ten percent last year. Unless lawmakers vote to reject the money, the raises take effect automatically.
