IDOT released a schedule of planned road work worth $16.3 million that begins on Monday, May 5, weather permitting.
Cook and Kane counties will be in the first installment. Work at DuPage County will begin the next week on Monday, May 12.
It will take several days for crews to patch and repair the roads that deteriorated during the harsh winter. Motorists should plan for delays and look for alternative routes.

For South Cook County, following are some of the key road segments that will be patched:
159th St (Torrence to Cicero)
Torrence Ave (Sauk Trail to 138th St)
47th St (Torrence to Sacramento Ave)
95th St (Rt 171 to LaGrange Rd)
Flavin Road (95th St to 104th St)
IL Rt. 83 (104th to Archer Ave)
26th St. from East End to Western Ave.
87th St. from Cicero to Pulaski
119th St. from US 45 to IL 83
131st St. from Harlem to SW Highway
154th St. from Michigan City Rd. to I-94
