Passengers injured in Chicago bus crash

CHICAGO CTA spokeswoman Sheila Gregory says the bus was traveling north on Ashland Avenue near 76th Street on Friday when it veered off the street and struck a light pole, a fire hydrant and then the railing of the building. Chicago Fire Department spokesman Larry Langford later identified the building as part of the old Chicago Fire Brick Company.

Twelve people, including bus passengers and the driver, were in stable or good condition at area hospitals, officials said.
