An Elgin teenager has pleaded guilty to attempted murder after he attacked a teacher with a knife. The attack took place in January at Elgin high school. The teacher lost her eye as a result.
Sixteen year-old Angel Facio pleaded guilty. Other charges in the case, aggravated battery and weapons counts, were dropped.
Facio was charged as a juvenile in this case but he faces charges in adult court for the alleged assault of an eight year-old girl. He will be sentenced in June for the attack on the teacher.
