Two paramedics with the Chicago Fire Department were suspended after using a racial slur. It happened during a conversation the two were having over the fire department radio in January.

Fire department spokesperson Larry Langford told the Sun-Times that the paramedic who used the profane language received an "unprecedented" suspension.

Both paramedics are back on the job.
