Arlene Ambrose got a seven-year prison sentence in the shooting death of a mentally disabled man, Jermaine Martin, in 2006.
The Gary woman was originally charged with murder but entered a guilty plea to a lesser charge and testified against her son, Tyler.
Prosecutors say after Ambrose and her son got into a fight over money with Martin. They went home and Tyler grabbed a rifle. The mother and son then went looking for Martin. Prosecutors say Tyler shot Martin in the back and Ambrose then drove him away from the scene.
