Trustee pleads not guilty to disorderly conduct

CARPENTERSVILLE The charge is linked to an incident in which she told three African American children to "quit playing in the trees like monkeys."

The children's family complained that her remarks were racist. Ramirez-Sliwinski has said she was concerned about the children's safety.

Her attorney says she can't be criminally punished for the remarks. And he plans to ask that the case be dismissed.
