A Plainfield man charged with stealing a puppy from a suburban pet store has pleaded guilty to one count of retail theft. Ninteen-year-old Emanuel Lopez is scheduled to be sentenced July 2. He's accused of stealing a Pomeranian puppy from a Petland store in Naperville in March.

Cases are still pending against two Petland employees who allegedly took part in the plot.

The puppy was returned safely to the store a few days after the theft.
