Longtime pastor of South Side church retires

Bishop Arthur Brazier, pastor of one of Chicago's largest churches, has retired.Brazier gave his last sermon during Sunday's service at Apostolic Church of God. The 86-year-old retiring pastor has been the leader of the church for the last 48 years.

More than 20,000 members attend Apostolic.

Bishop Brazier says he thought about retiring as pastor of the more than 20,000-member congregation several years ago but decided against it. He is being succeeded by his son, Dr. Byron Brazier.
