Player who helped student in NIU shooting honored

Tim Mayerbock was honored Friday at Saint Edward Church on the city's North Side.

Mayerbock carried Troy Chamberlain to safety after Chamberlain was shot in the leg during the shooting spree.

The NIU football player comforted Chamberlain until helped arrived and rode to the hospital to make sure chamberlain was okay.

Mayerbock also received thanks from the injured student and his family.
