Minority marrow donors sought

Chicago is joining a grassroots, nationwide effort to find more minority bone marrow donors.Two drives were underway in the city's Chinatown and Uptown communities Tuesday.

It's part of the Project Michelle initiative that was created to raise awareness of leukemia and to educate people of the bone marrow donation process.

The goal is to increase the number of names in a nationwide registry for bone marrow donors.

The drives continued until 7 p.m. Tuesday.
