Reverend James Meeks is calling for a safe summer and is asking for help to take his message of peace to the streets. Reverend Meeks is organizing a "Save our Streets" march for this Wednesday to protest the recent gun violence against children. He spoke to the congregation Saturday morning at 'The House of Hope' on 114th Street. He says the first step to end the killings "starts with the church."

"Something is going wrong, and it's up to the church to get a handle on it. It's up to the church, at least, to talk about it, at least, to discuss it, at least, to be mad about it, at least, to cuss about it, at least to do something," said Reverend Meeks.

Reverend Meeks added that people can turn in guns or enroll in GED programs during this Wednesday's march.
