They say Canadian National has not answered to community concerns regarding congestion, safety and infrastructural expenses.
"Our feeling is, if there was ever a case to have turned down, this one is it. Suburban Chicago, a built-up area, knowing the impact here, this is one where there should be a no," said Karen Darch, Barrington Village president.
Canadian National says it is planning more meetings with communities as well as with the Federal Surface Transportation Board.
