The shooting took place Friday at Greenwood Liquors and Food in Dolton. The store is located next to a daycare center and pre-school.
Police say the toddler was wounded during an exchange of gunfire between Levertis Logan and other men. Logan is charged with unlawful use of a weapon. The boy is reportedly doing OK.
Another man, Donte Gardner of South Holland, is charged with attempted murder.
