The Illinois Gaming Board has approved a plan for putting the long-stalled tenth casino license in play.Within the next three months, the board will accept applications from what it expects will be dozens of gaming operators. Three finalists and then the winner will be chosen by the end of the year.

The state's tenth casino license was originally awarded to Rosemont. That was blocked by years of litigation. Once again, Rosemont is likely to be among the applicants.
