CHICAGO, Ill. --
Illinois Congressman Bobby Rush returned to work on Wednesday after having cancer surgery five months. The Chicago democrat was warmly welcomed on the house floor. He thanked his many colleagues who had called and wished him well during his battle with cancer. He says he is cancer free after surgery for a tumor on his salivary gland.
Rush is up for re-election to a ninth term in November.
