Walgreens is expanding its discount prescription drug program. The Deerfield-based drug store chain will begin offering a 90-day supply of prescription medications for $12, including more than 400 generic medications.

It's similar to a program Wal-Mart announced in May, which features a 90-day supply of medications for $10.

Walgreens launched its Prescription Savings Club last fall with discounts on 5,000 name-brand and generic medications.
