Study: Obesity may be contagious

Researchers say that people are driven by comparison. They found that women were satisfied with their weight depending on how their body mass index compared with women their own age living in the same country.

Also, men who were overweight tended to be happier if the people around them were overweight too.

This study was presented at the National Bureau of Economic Research Conference in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
