Cancer Survivors Day celebrated at Chicago hospital

CHICAGO Survivors and their families took part in games, food and other entertainment. A variety of speakers covered topics from medicine to new technology.

ABC7 Chicago's Roz Varon, who is a breast cancer survivor, was among those who spoke to the audience. She talked about the number of people who encouraged her during her battle.

"You really get strength from other people. My doctors, the support that I had from my extended family, it's our chance to pay it forward. That's a cool thing about being a survivor," Varon said.

Cancer Survivors' Day is a tribute to everyone who has fought cancer.
