The building isn't complete just yet. But enough of the work is complete, so that students can begin class Monday.
The schools have not been named yet. But when they are, they will be named after veterans and those in the military who died for their country.
"Recognizing their efforts, it's a daily reminder not only to ourselves but for our children and all the generations that come after them of the sacrifices that people made on our behalf," said Juan Rangel, UNO CEO.
UNO is a community-based organization that manages charter schools in Chicago and New Orleans.
