An autopsy was scheduled Sunday for a man found dead in a northwest suburban retention pond. Emergency crews and divers recovered the body Saturday.

Arlington Heights police Sergeant Bob Murray says the man reportedly went missing Saturday while with a group of friends near the rain-swollen pond. Divers were searching for him through the murky water near 700 South Dwyer.

The man, identified as 28-year-old Alan Byrd , was recovered at about 5:25 p.m. Saturday

It was not clear what the man and his friends were doing near the pond.
