Honey seems to speed burn recovery

Researchers in New Zealand reviewed 19 studies. Their results, published in the Cochrane Library, suggest applying honey to a burn my speed up healing by as much as four days.

The theory is that honey makes the wound less hospitable to infectious bacteria by drawing moisture away from the burn and mimicking the effects of peroxide.

Some surgical centers around the world are already using bandages containing honey to help treat wounds.
