The group is calling on parents to supervise their children more closely, as they walk to and from school each day, and for the community to work toward ending violent crimes.
"We're calling now on the community so that we can activate or maybe reactivate some of the programs that we've had in terms of community watch programs and community watch groups," said Pastor Robbie Wilkerson, Leadership Network.
Police are investigating Tuesday morning's incident.
