Trucks clear side streets

One hundred trucks were out on Christmas Eve fighting the slush, snow and ice on side streets. Managers at the Streets and Sanitation Department coordinated with ward superintendents until 11 p.m. They're trying to pinpoint the worst stretches of Chicago roads so trucks can clear and salt them.

The dramatic swings in temperature have caused pooling and freezing on side streets.
