In far south suburban Monee, residents living near what's believed to have been a pipeline burst are back in their homes on Friday night. On Thursday, fire crews responded to a call about an unknown oily-like substance that had surfaced above ground near the 6600 block of West Dralle Road.

Officials say the company that owned an underground pipeline in the area dug up an area of the pipe and found no leak or break.

The environmental protection agency has taken samples of the odorless substance and sent them to a lab for further testing.
