Chinese new year celebrations in Chicago

The Year of the Ox was celebrated in Chinatown over the weekend.Bands, dragons, drummers and dignitaries joined in the celebration.

The parade's grand marshal was ABC7 Chicago's Linda Yu, who was dressed in red, which is a symbol of happiness.

Thousands lined the parade route, which went from Wentworth to Cermak to Princeton.

It has been noted that Barack Obama was born in the Year of the Ox.
