A northwest Indiana man pleaded not guilty in connection with the death of a Metra police officer in south suburban Harvey. Jeremy Lloyd is charged with first-degree murder and armed robbery in the death of Thomas Cook. It happened back in September 2006.

Police said Lloyd acted as a lookout while an accomplice shot cook as he sat in his squad car.

Prosecutors say the apparent motive was to steal Cook's gun.
