A west suburban priest is free on bond after pleading "not guilty" to theft and money laundering charges. Prosecutors say Reverend John Regan stole more than $300,000 from his parish.

Regan served as pastor at Saint Walter's Catholic Church in Roselle from 2006 to 2008.

The Diocese of Joliet removed Regan from the parish last July after banking irregularities were discovered.

Prosecutors say Regan used some of the money for gambling.
